Value Added is a means of measuring the progress individual children make between Key Stage 1, in year 2, and Key Stage 2, in year 6. To give each school a value added measure (VA), data is gathered from the school based on its pupils’ results at Key Stages 1 and 2 and then compared against national averages. Schools are ranked on their VA, which gives a guide to how their pupils’ attainments have improved. These results are published in December.
The results for Primary Schools in Worcestershire which were published in December 2006, placed Holywell Primary and Nursery School as 5th in the County out of 102 schools. We are very proud of this achievement.
A score above 100 shows pupils made more progress than similar pupils nationally; below 100 indicates less progress. Nationally, the average was 99.8 in 2006.
Our results for 2006 were: VA = 101.7
